A kitchen quote consists of dozens of items: units, worktop, appliances, fitting, electrics, plumbing and tiling. In the UK two of them are regulated — work on a gas hob or cooker legally requires a Gas Safe registered engineer, and new electrical circuits are notifiable under the building regulations (Part P). Often not all costs are visible, or they're deliberately priced low so extra work can be billed later. Common risks
